CCCC LAN Cabling Notes

It has turned out to be too time consuming to plot out the cabling in the church that I know about. So in this page I am going to write out that information in hopes it will be adequate for continued administration.

These items are in random sequence, so to make sence of this page, read all of it and imaging the physical location it refers to - see it in your mind. Then you will have about all the understanding I have, which is not enough. Even better, you could go to each location and look at the cabling first hand.

On the second floor at the west end of the Kids hall in the ceiling in front of the purple door is a switch.

One of the lines runs to the block wall on the south side of the hall and then through that wall using an enlarged hole that a pipe is run through. That line runs to the south west corner of the closet room whete the Savin printer is located.

Just an FYI. but the standard we need to follow for catx rj45 pinning is the type B version, not type A. I have been using type A everywhere, but not yet wired any POE (which runs best with type B).

Check the wiring/pinning diagrams in google images to see the different color coding for types A and B.

On the third floor, ‘all’ of the ethernet runs to the West wiring closet, in the back, in the student game area. This is also where the 3rd floor mesh router is located.

The exception is the line from the streaming studio runs directly to the computer room on the second floor.

There are also several lines that come up from the main SWC.

The Mesh WiFi includes several extenders. These are small bague boxes that plug right into a power wall plug. They are configured the same way the full size Mesh boxes are. They are named for their location.

There a fiber line running from the Tech Booth to the computer room.
